Definition of Dealer's choice

If you are in a Dealer's Choice game, it is the player on the button (the dealer) who will choose the poker variant to be played. Once the hand is finished, the button will move in its usual direction and the next player to be dealer will choose the variant.

Dealer's Choice variants and strategy

The Dealer's Choice variant is interesting and will certainly spice up your next friendly game. When you are on the dealer and choose the variant, the goal is not necessarily to excel at that variant but to master it better than your opponents. Today, almost everyone plays no-limit hold'em or pot limit Omaha. But who excels at Stud? Omaha-8? If you have a basic understanding of these games, you are likely to dominate your table. These games are a good incentive to learn new poker variants. There are too many variations to name in a Dealer's Choice game. Let's name just a few to give you an idea: Pot Limit Hold'em, Limit Hold'em, No Limit Hold'em, Pot Limit Omaha, No Limit Omaha, Omaha-8, Stud, Badugi, Courchevel, etc.
