Definition of floor manager

The expression is English-speaking. The frequency with which you hear it will depend on the casino you are in. In French, it would probably be the tournament room manager. The phrase "to call the floor manager" means "to call the management of the casino or gaming room". When playing indoor poker, you call the floor (simply) or the floor manager when you have a dispute. Generally, players can get along. If not, the dealer can always decide, but in really difficult situations, the floor manager is the ultimate authority. The floor manager tries as much as possible to be fair and impartial.

An example of calling the flop manager

You are on the river and an opponent bets big. You are really hesitating; should you call the bet or fold. You think about it. Suddenly you make a move that might suggest that you are folding your hand. Instantly your opponent shows you a bluff. You let him know that you have not yet folded your hand and call the bet. Your opponent disagrees and assures you that your hand was folded. Sometimes it can be difficult to know who is right. In such a situation, the floor manager is called.
