Definition of package

A package is a package that can be won at online poker rooms (entries + accommodation + transport + spending money). Packages are usually for large casino poker tournaments. For example, an online poker room might run a satellite tournament that allows you to win a package to the World Series of Poker (WSOP) main event. The $12,500 package could include an entry into the $10,000 main event, hotel accommodations, airfare and spending money.

The beauty of satellite tournaments

These tournaments that offer you package wins are called satellites (a tournament that moves you to a bigger tournament) and are a goldmine. Generally, the calibre of players is lower and there is often a lot of overlay in these tournaments, meaning that the total prize pool will often be larger than the total money raised from the entry fee. All of these variables put in place make the satellite tournament to win a package often very interesting. If you see them, don't hesitate to do them.
