Definition of tilter

Tilting is the opposite of being zen. When we are zen, we are calm, analytical, at peace and in harmony with ourselves and our environment. When you are tilted, you have an overload of negative emotions, you see red, you play badly, you are too aggressive, you bluff too much, you call too much, you lose your rationality, you deviate from your A game. The tilted player will often be tilted because he has experienced a badbeat or has been passed a big bluff. The reasons for being tilted are like the reasons for being angry; they are infinite.

How to recognize the tilted player?

If you have a tracker and you have the stats on a player and he has a VPIP of 12% for example, you know he is a tight player. If after a badbeat you see him opening all hands and passing several bluffs, you know he is tilted. A tilted player has poor emotional management. He may even insult other players in the chat room. Usually, don't try to bluff a tilted player and play good solid ABC poker.
