Definition of NLHE

NLHE is the shortcut to No Limit Hold’em(Hold’em without limit). NLHE is often identified as the "Cadillac of poker variants". We distinguish the Hold’em without limits from the Hold’em pot limit and the Hold’em limit. The Hold’em is one of the many variants that make up the poker (Stud, Omaha, 19, 2-7 Triple Draw, Courchevelle, etc). The NLHE, on the other hand, is the most popular and widespread form of the poker. Every year in Las Vegas is held a poker tournament called the "Main Event des World Series of poker" and it is this $10,000 US tournament in Hold’em No Limit that determines the poker world champion.

The other forms of poker

Often, variants of poker will be shortened to NLHE. For example, Pot Limit Omaha will be identified as PLO. The Omaha Hi-Lo will often be identified as O8 or O H/L. Be sure to select the right options when playing poker online since it is possible that your poker room may use these shortcuts. Many people have probably wondered why they couldn't go all in preflop because they chose an LHE table instead of a NLHE table!
