The poker tournament clock can be used in your friendly poker games or for any live poker tournament. The clock is also useful for sit'n'gos

The Poker Tournament Clock is a good indicator to make sure that the tournament is running smoothly. It keeps track of the size of the blinds and the number of players remaining in the tournament

Do you want a slow or fast tournament?

There are several indicators of how long a tournament will last; the number of players, the starting grid, the time of the levels, and the blind levels (the evolution of the blind size)

Let's take 2 extreme examples to give you an idea.

Turbo tournament

The Turbo Tournament will give each player 500 starting chips. The time of the levels will be 3 minutes and the starting blinds will be 50/100. In this type of tournament, you know that the action will be very fast

Deep stack tournament with slow structure

Here you'll have a starting stack of 10,000 chips. The level time will be between 15 and 20 minutes and the starting blinds will be 25/50. The levels will also increase slowly

Some tips to keep in mind when using the poker tournament clock

For a HYPER-TURBO structure, set the level times to 3 minutes.

For a NORMAL structure, set the times of the levels between 5 and 10 minutes.

For a SLOW structure, set the times of the levels between 15 and 20 minutes

The more players there are, the longer the tournament will be, so go as you wish.

Don't forget to always put the big blind twice the size of the small blind in your structure. By default this will be the case

If during the tournament you find that the structure is too slow, adjust the blinds in the upcoming levels. For example, if you're on level 15 of the tournament and the blinds are at 500 and 1000, instead of having a level 16 where the blinds will be at 750 and 1500, you can increase the blinds to 1000 and 2000. It's always difficult to predict the total duration of a tournament so there's nothing wrong with readjusting

Note that the default site structure is fine for most regular tournaments. It's up to you whether you want to adjust the levels or not

Once everything is in place, press START CLOCK

A new web page will appear with your tournament information. Once this page is opened, don't forget to press the PLAY button to start the timer

Poker tournament clock

After each level, it will be important to adjust the number of players remaining in the tournament. You will be able to do this by pressing the + and - buttons to the left and right of the number of players

30 seconds before the end of a level, you will receive an audible alert to warn you. When the level is over, another alert will let you know

After each level, be sure to indicate the number of players remaining, announce the size of the new blinds to all players and restart the timer.

All hands started before the end of the level should preferably end before the new blinds come into effect
