Biography and performances

Adrián Mateos Díaz was born on 1 July 1994 in Madrid, Spain. He is a high roller and even super high roller tournament player. By "super high roller", we mean a tournament with an entry price of $250,000. Adrian won one of these tournaments in 2021 when he finished 1st out of 33 entrants. For his win, he took home $3,265,362, his biggest ever payout. To date (2023), his tournament winnings are estimated at more than US$32 million.

Some records to his credit

In 2015, he won the European Poker Tour Grand Final in Monte Carlo, which earned him €1,082,000. He then became the first Spanish player to win this honour. At the age of 22, Adrian became the youngest player in history to have won 3 World Series of Poker bracelets. Good results for someone who, in 2013, was unsure of his decision when he left his native Spain to move to London to play poker professionally. If unsuccessful, he planned to return to the school benches to continue his studies.

What does he do today?

Adrian is fairly discreet about his professional and personal life. Apart from poker, we know that he has a passion for tennis, a sport in which he excels (having played a lot in his youth). His passion for cards comes from his family. When he learned that with a knowledge of mathematics, it was possible to obtain better results in poker, he plunged fully into the study of poker. In his own words, poker became an obsession. Although little information is publicly available about him, it is known that he now lives in London, England, and that he travels around Europe to play in the world's biggest poker tournaments. When he's not in a casino playing a tournament, he's often at the tables at the popular online poker room Winamax where he's part of the pro team.
