Biography and performances

When he was younger, Dominik Nitsche, born in Germany in 1990, wanted to be a professional footballer. He soon realised that he didn't have what it took for the job, but realised on the other hand that he was very good at maths. At the age of 16, he became interested in poker and started playing under his mother's pseudonym. In 2009, he took part in his first live poker tournament and won $381,000 on the Latin American Poker Tour in Mar del Plata, Argentina. Quite a performance for a first live tournament! His career as a poker player had officially been launched.

His numerous paid places at the WSOP

The most impressive thing about Dominik is that at just 33 years old (in 2023), he has already amassed 4 WSOP bracelets, 33 paid spots as well as over US$20 million in tournament winnings (not to mention his World Poker Tour title and 6 paid spots). In 2017, he won his biggest career prize at the World Series of Poker Europe. In the €111,111 High Roller for One Drop No Limit Hold'em tournament, he finished 1st for €3,487,463. And those who follow these events know that the calibre of these tournaments is very high. They pretty much always feature the best players in poker.

Dominik is also a big online winner!

In addition to his $20 million in purses in live tournaments, Dominik has also accumulated more than $7 million online in tournaments, notably on PokerStars where he plays under the alias "Bounatirou" and, at the time, on Full Tilt Poker, where he played under the alias "JustLuck1337" (Full Tilt Poker no longer exists since 2012). In May 2020, he won the prestigious Spring Championship of Online Poker main event on PokerStars.
