Biography and performances
You'd think Liv Boeree had it all. She's pretty, smart, an excellent communicator, a musician as well as having a degree in physics and astrophysics. She is also, of course, an excellent poker player. During her studies, Liv played guitar for a heavy metal band called "Dissonance and Nemhaim". In fact, she's known to be a big fan of the English metal band, Iron Maiden.
She's good at everything, even poker!
It was really in 2010 that Liv established herself as a world-class player, the year she won the €5,000 + 300 No Limit Hold'em - Main Event held in Italy. At the event, she came 1st out of 1240 entries. For her performance, she walked away with 1.2 million euros (around 1.7 million US dollars). After this impressive performance, she became a member of the PokerStars pro team. This association finally lasted 9 years, until 2019. When she announced the break-up in the media, she also announced that she would no longer be playing poker professionally. Despite this announcement, Liv still took part in big live tournaments in casinos all over the world. Although she still plays poker, it no longer represents the center of her interests.
Her first poker coaches
Liv was first introduced to poker in 2005 when she appeared on Ultimatepoker.com Showdown, a UK reality show broadcast on Channel Five. During her time on the show, she was coached by Phil Hellmuth, Annie Duke and Dave Ulliott (better known by his pseudonym, "Devilfish". On a personal level, she is very involved in her community and is a member of the Giving What We Can association. Members of this association pledge to donate 10% of their income annually.
