Definition of Razz

Razz is a poker variant. If you've ever played H.O.R.S.E., the R in the word stands for Razz (Hold'em, Omaha, Razz, Stud, Stud Eight or better). Razz is a form of seven-card stud that is played as a low hand. The game is similar to 7-card stud. But in Razz, you want to make a low rather than a high. For this reason, the bring-in, rather than being the one who receives the lowest card, will be the one who receives the highest card. If two players receive the same card, the suit must be decided; spades dominate hearts, hearts dominate diamonds and diamonds dominate clubs.

Basic Razz Info

When playing Razz, the ace counts as a low card. There will be open and closed cards. Cards 1, 2 and 7 will be hidden, the others open (visible). The maximum number of players at the Razz tables is 8. The maximum number of raises per betting round is 4. Razz is a very uncommon, but very fun variation of the game. The game is also known to have a low variance.
