Definition of Razz
The Razz is a variant of poker. If you have ever played H.O.R.S.E., the R in the word means Razz (Hold’em, Omaha, Razz, stud, stud Eight or better). Razz is a form of stud that is played with seven cards in low hand mode (low). The game is similar to the 7-card stud. But in Razz, you want to make a low rather than a high. For this reason, the bring-in, rather than being the one who receives the lowest card, will be the one who receives the highest card. If two players are dealt the same card, the suit must be decided; spades over hearts, hearts over diamonds, and diamonds over clubs.
Basic info on the Razz
When playing Razz, the ace counts as a weak card. There will be open and closed cards. Cards 1, 2 and 7 will be hidden, the others open (visible). On tables of Razz, the maximum number of players is 8. The maximum number of raises per bidding round will be 4. Razz is a very rare, but very fun variation. This game is also known to have a low variance.
