Biography and performances

Viktor Blom was born in Sweden in 1990. Blom made his name in 2009 while playing on Full Tilt Poker. Out of nowhere, he appeared on the high stakes tables and overnight began playing the site's top players, including Tom Dwan and Patrick Antonius. Also in 2009, he played against Tom Dwan over 4 heads-up tables and won around $4 million against him. At that point, the Isildur1 legend was created. Everyone in the poker community was talking about him. Blom is also known for his performances in international tournaments. His best performance in a live tournament came at PartyPoker LIVE, a €5,000 + 300 No Limit Hold'em tournament. During the event, he finished 1st and won €850,000. His total tournament winnings are valued at nearly $3 million.

Blom's swings at the tables

In his Full Tilt Poker days, many poker players followed him like watching a good movie or TV series. When he appeared on a Full Tilt Poker heads-up table, thousands of spectators would open the table and watch him play. His style of play was exciting and he knew some huge swings. As mentioned above, he'd already had a $4 million winning week against Tom Dwan, but he'd also had a $3.2 million losing week against Phil Ivey. In the words of Viktor Blom, Ivey is the best player he's ever played against in his life. Blom is also known for generating the biggest pot in online poker history against Patrick Antonius, a $1.3 million pot (won by Antonius).

From heads-up cash games player, to tournament player

By 2011, his main focus was on online poker tournaments. And he excels at them! In early 2012, he won the PCA super High Roller for a prize of 1.2 million. He's been racking up wins ever since, but his most impressive and prestigious victory to date is probably his first-place finish in the SCOOP Main Event-High on PokerStars, where he took home almost a million dollars. The High tournaments are the big buy-ins and reputed to be the toughest as the best tournament players in the world are present.
