Biography and performances
Martin Jacobson was born in Stockholm, Sweden in 1987. He is best known for winning the main event of the World Series at Poker in 2014. In that event, he defeated 6,683 players to take home US$10 million and the prestigious bracelet awarded at every WSOP tournament event. To date, he has also made 4 WSOP final tables and 16 paid places. We've also seen him shine in other tournament series such as the World Poker Tour in which he made 2 final tables and the European Poker Tour where he made 4 final tables and won 9 paid places.
Ambassador for 888poker
Following his tournament success and after being named Player of the Year by a Swedish publication, Martin signed an agreement with online poker room 888poker to become one of its ambassadors.
What does he do today?
Martin still plays poker both online at PokerStars (under the pseudonym "Mr.nosbocaJ") and in casinos around the world. To illustrate just how active and winning Martin still is on the international scene, in 2023 alone, he won 20 paid places in major casino tournaments in 5 different countries. On a more personal level, Martin has pledged to donate 3% of his tournament winnings and 2% of his cash game winnings to the Raising for Effective Giving organization. This organization is mainly made up of poker players, and funds a multitude of projects ranging from malaria research to artificial intelligence research to the protection of animal rights. The association was notably founded by Liv Boeree, whose bio you can find on our pages.
