Ben Lamb the poker player, not to be confused with Ben Lamb the actor who played Anthony Rivers in The White Queen series. Born in 1986, Ben Lamb began playing poker full-time in 2004. Two years later, he won his first major prize of $60,000 in a $500 tournament. Another impressive performance came in 2010 at the Spring Championship of Online Poker (known as SCOOP on PokerStars), when he finished 1st out of 4,204 entries. He took home $66,003 for a buy-in of just $109. The following year, he shone at the WSOP to win Card Player magazine's 2011 Player of the Year award. To date, he has amassed $16,233,116 in live tournament winnings. His biggest win came in 2011 when he finished 3rd in the $10,000 WSOP Main Event for a payout of over $4 million.
Brilliant WSOP performances
In addition to the performance we cited above, which valued him at just over $4 million, Ben Lamb has other impressive WSOP results on his record. He has won 2 bracelets in major events. His first bracelet was won in 2011 in a $10,000 PLO event, which earned him the bracelet and a check for $814,436. His second bracelet was won in 2023 when he finished 1st in a $10,000 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better tournament. This time, in addition to the bracelet, he went home with a check for $492,795. Another impressive fact about Ben Lamb at the WSOP is that he has 7 final tables to his name. In addition to his 2011 Main Event final table where he finished 3rd, he finished 9th in the $10,000 Main Event for a purse of one million US dollars. Considering that 7,221 players had taken part in the event, this is a noteworthy feat.
