Jason Mercier (J-Merc)

Jason Mercier, like Erik Seidel, is a very versatile poker player, having managed to win WSOP bracelets in several poker variants (No-Limit Hold'em, Pot Limit Omaha, 2-7 No Limit Draw Lowball and H.O.R.S.E. to name but a few). In his career, Mercier has won over $20 million in tournaments. In addition to excelling on the WSOP circuit, he has also been spotted on the European Poker Tour (EPT) and North American Poker Tour.

Almost 15 years of excellence already!

In 2009, Mercier won his first World Series of Poker bracelet in Pot Limit Omaha for a cash prize of $237,415. Since then, Mercier has continued to impress. Most recently (2023), he won another bracelet in the World Series of Poker's $1,500 No Limit 2-7 Lowball Draw.

His partnership with PokerStars

Jason Mercier was part of online giant PokerStars' pro team for 10 years. After the birth of his son, Mercier decided to leave the team to spend more time with his family. In an interview, he mentioned that the well-being of his wife, son and future children would now be his priority. He wasn't announcing his retirement, since he still plays poker (as evidenced by his bracelet win at the 2023 WSOP), but one could read between the lines of this interview, that much of the time he used to devote to poker, would now be reinvested with his loved ones.
