Faraz Jaka (The Toilet)

Faraz Jaka was born in 1985 in San Jose, California. We've seen him on the international poker scene since 2007. He is still very active, and in fact won a WSOP bracelet in the $1,500 No Limit Hold'em Shootout event. For his 1st place finish, he took home $237,367. He mainly plays live poker tournaments and to date, his total winnings are in excess of 7 million US dollars. He has mostly played in WSOP and WPT events. His biggest ever win was 2nd place in a $25,000 buy-in WPT event in 2010. For his performance, he pocketed $774,780.

Faraz's multiple passions

In addition to poker, which is obviously one of his passions, Faraz is passionate about running, basketball, poetry and hip-hop! For him, these different passions are necessary to help him get through the tough times in poker. For him, these other passions give him the energy and mental strength to perform well at the tables. He had a difficult start to his poker career, but Faraz has always maintained a good attitude and has always been determined to improve. His discipline and strength of character are two elements that have greatly helped him become the player he is today.

Where does he get his funny nickname?

We know Faraz by the pseudonym "The Toilet", which is rather strange you'll agree. The nickname comes from his early career when he knew little about poker. In his early days, Faraz would play any matching cards to make a flush. Flush is also associated with flushing the toilet. Despite the strange etiquette, Faraz is comfortable with this nickname and uses it when he plays online.
